1. Job Title: Project Team leader

FULL TIME

Minimum Qualification Masters

Years of Experience 10 years

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Leading marine ecological research studies
  • Conducting benthic surveys and artisanal fishing pattern mapping surveys or other nearshore marine research
  • Handling and analysis of Marine Survey data.
  • Writing technical reports for international donors/organizations or other international audiences.

Education and Experience

  • A master’s degree/Ph.D. in marine science or a related discipline
  • Demonstrate experience leading marine ecological research studies in Tanzania or similar nearshore marine environments in the western Indian Ocean (WIO
  • At least 10 years of practical experience in the water field, experience in marine benthic surveys/ surveys/ another nearshore marine ecological research.
  • Significant demonstrable experience in marine survey, data handling, and analysis.
  • Significant demonstrable experience writing high-quality technical reports for international donors/organizations or other international audiences.

Minimum Qualification Bachelor

Years of Experience 5 years

Roles or Responsibilities:

  • Conducting benthic surveys and other marine nearshore ecological research.
  • Marine navigation to generate systematic baseline data.

Education and Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in marine science or a related discipline.
  • Significant demonstrable practical in-water field experience in marine benthic surveys and/or other nearshore marine ecological research.
  • Significant demonstrable experience in handheld GPS navigation and/ or smartphone navigation applications.

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with day-to-day operations of the HR functions and duties in the organization

  • Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates the overall training and development programs within the framework of the department’s formal Comprehensive Training Plan.
  • Reviews employee classifications including the knowledge, skills and abilities and ensures that the training plan meets the technical and supervisory needs of the department and are aligned with the department’s strategic plan, and mission statement.
  • Documents all technical and leadership training that is provided throughout the department.
  • Confers with employees in other departments regarding training programs being developed and offered interdependently for maximum cost effectiveness considerations and the meeting of multi-departmental performance objectives.
  • Understand the operations, functions, and staffing of the department.
  • Performs related work as required by the management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource or any related field
  • 2 to 3 years experience as an employee trainer, a training coordinator, a training administrator, a training consultant, or as an human resources professional or assistant, which has included designing and conducting employee training and development programs.
  • Current trends, developments and theories in organizational development and training
  • Build training content, develop lesson plans, and create effective training guides
  • Excellent communication skills, conflict resolution and interpersonal skills
  • Computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel and other software applications as required by job assignment

The Tanzania Tobacco Board (TTB) is a tobacco control body established under the tobacco industry law no. 24 of 2001 (as amended by the Crops (Amendment) Act No. 20 of 2009).

The history of the Tobacco Board goes back to the 1960s when the Government established the Tanganyika Tobacco Board.

In 1970 the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania established the Tanzania Tobacco Authority (TAT). TAT was changed in 1984 to the Tanzania Tobacco Processing and Marketing Board. In 1993 the Tanzania Tobacco Processing and Marketing Board was reformed into the Tanzania Tobacco Board (TTB) following the privatization of the tobacco industry which culminated in 1997 when the activities of the Tobacco Board were funded by the Government. The current board is the result of the Tobacco Industry Law No. 24 of 2001, and its amendment in 2009.
