Job Title: Assistant Program Officer-Climate Smart Economic Empowerment
Immediate Supervisor: Project Manager
Working Stations: Kilolo and Iringa Districts
Responsibility
The Assistant Program Officer will be responsible for providing technical assistance and coordination in the implementation of the Climate Smart Economic Empowerment (CSEE) initiatives in the Project area.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Program Implementation
- Develop and share with Field Assistants, Community Based Trainers and District Based Trainers periodic work plans for CSEE initiatives.
- Provide leadership in identifying, profiling and verification of House Holds in destitutions and facilitating linkages with appropriate social protection programs.
- Provide routine monitoring and support supervision to the Community Based Facilitators (IR-Microfinance Groups’ Facilitators, Community Volunteers, District IR-Microfinance Groups’ Facilitator) to ensure quality programming and delivery of services.
- Coordinate/Prepare and submit key monthly Reports to IOP before sharing with stakeholders and other interested parties
- To support groups to engage in mobilizing resources and investing in Climate Smart Economic Strengthening initiatives.
- Provide mentorship, coaching and supportive supervision to Community Based Facilitators/Volunteers to ensure best provision of services to the community.
- Coordinate CSEE activities between the Government agencies and other related actors.
- Support Producer Groups and other groups to register at District/Regional/National level
- Analyse data and reports submitted by Community Based Facilitators
- Maintaining an up-to-date database for all beneficiaries and ensure all relevant data collection are well administered/maintained for accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinate the training of the women, men and youth on tree nurseries development and management, Climate Smart Agriculture (Agroforestry, Conservation Agriculture and the proper use of inputs) and mobilize the Community to form Climate Adaptation Coalitions.
- Strengthen the Climate Smart Coalitions in Kilolo
- Mobilize and train youth to engage in agroforestry activities and agricultural value chain.
Academic Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor Degree in community development or community economic development or Rural Development or any other field with proven experience in Community works.
- Experience: An experience of at least one year in serving community preferably in Economic Empowerment, Climate Smart Agriculture, Environmental Project Initiatives and Gender Based Violence, will be an added advantage.
- Fluent in English and Swahili, both written and spoken.
- Computer literacy
- Ability to write quality reports
